The Legend Resort Cherating, Kuantan, Pahang

The Legend Resort Cherating stands proudly beside the beautiful sandy beach of Cherating, which is located at the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, around 3 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur and around 45km from Kuantan, Pahang.

When we first reached the resort, we were warmly welcomed by the staff of The Legend Resort Cherating. We were greeted with friendly faces, we felt like home. The lobby of the resort is so spacious we did not feel cramped even though the were almost hundred of us in the lobby at that time.

My husband and I got the Grand Deluxe room for our two-night stay there. The Grand Deluxe rooms are located at the Cherating Wing of the resort which were newly renovated. We were lucky to get our room with ocean view.

There are altogether 248 rooms available at the resort. The breakfast buffet that come together with the room booked serves a wide variety of interesting food – from bread and butter to nasi lemak with ayam rempah, from cereals to pancakes. The breakfast is served at the Coconut Grove Coffee House. Lunch and dinner are also available at the coffee house.

One of my favourite parts of the resort that totally caught my eyes from the first time I saw it is the swimming pool. The Legend Resort Cherating has one of the biggest pools I’ve ever seen. The pool area consist of three swimming pools – one for adults with proper swimming suit, one for adults without proper swimming suit and one children pool. 

I would definitely tell you to go to The Legend Resort Cherating for its own private beach. The beach is well kept and if you’re lucky and the weather is good, you might be able to sit by the beach witnessing the sun rises early in the morning. At the evening, you can stroll by the beach for fresh air, let the kids build sand castle, swim in the clear water or just enjoy reading your favourite book and relax at the beach.

As far as the eyes can see...

At the end of the beach, you can find a place where land or water activities can be arranged. There are many choice of activities you can do while spending your time there like riding the ATV and banana boats.

When the sun is high, you can spend a little more time having fun with indoor activities like table tennis, pool and foosball. While spending your time at the resort, you do not have to worry to miss your gym session because the resort has its gymnasium for you to sweat it out. And ladies, kindly take note that jacuzzi and sauna are available as well at the resort’s sport center.

Besides the fun activity available at the resort, you might also want to spend your time with family and friends on some more nature-loving activities around Cherating. You can go on the river cruise along the Cherating Mangrove River and spot wild life like the mangrove snake, monkeys and monitor lizards. Besides that, the firefly watching tour at night is guaranteed worth every penny spent! If you go to the resort with small kids, let them be creative by letting them try the batik painting activity.

I was lucky enough that I got to do some of the amazing activities like went to Cherating River cruise, released baby turtles to sea and watched fireflies while I was there. I’ve never thought Cherating has so much to offer, until I got the chance to step on its sandy beach and witnessed its beautiful nature-friendly scenery and environment. That was my very first visit to Cherating, but surely will not be the last!
