ReplyDeletenever been there myself. 9th may this year, i am 27. the nearest i went to fort corn (i called it that way because corn is something i know, unlike cornwallis the name is horrible and i dont really want to know how and why it is named as such) is to the nearside super delicious mee rebus and super crazy mantap air nyok.
ReplyDeletesuperstitious had said there is a cannon in fort corn that for someone having difficulties getting pregnant, touch it and the curse may be broken.
never i am one, thats why i call it non-brain thing at all. because u need the other 'cannon' firing all cylinders if u want to get pregnant. not a leftover one by the dutch? english?
oh no i am so history blind. as i am at IT. pity siti nurhaliza or datuk as she is called now. she sang the IT songs and yet not only i dont know a thing about IT, i also appear to be un interested in that Buta IT song.
the only i am interested in Siti is the mystery of why 4 million single guys in malaysia didnt sway her feet off the ground. and a married man with a horrible moustache did. the rest they say is history.
of course she is history. we, the 4 million odd men, still standing. and we are still virgin. sort of.
now back to fort corn (and the other places of interest of WHICH i never had any desire to go in the first place)
not i am so ignorant of my own history. or my land's. but the fact that matter is such places bring nothing except for reminding me of our (painful) yesterdecades.
what i meant is when i were remembered how easy we were conned, my body got angin everywhere. again the defenders of our forefathers (as they claim they are) pointed the fingers to those crusaders. saying it was them that tricked us. instead of we being plain stupid.
want me to tell a fact about the original people of New Zealand that stood upon their land no matter what when there was harrasments of the whites back some 200 years ago?
of course the aborigines lose the battle, but not the war. up until now, they only 'surrender' the right to develop the land. but not surrender the 'ownership' of the land.
why not we did the same to singapore? dont tell me singapore is an unprecedented situation, because the chinese did the thing onto Chinese Taipeh some 100-200 years ago? that they give autonomy of ruling to some guys in taiwan, but not the land?
i dont know. digging the graves of the people will not solve anything. not good to everyone.
maybe except for museum people.
